SOUTHFIELDS NOW LINKED TO VALLEYWOOD
Residents of Southfields and Valleywood are now linked by a trail. I haven't tried the route myself, though I will. But I understand a new bridge has been built, providing the final link between these two communities.
I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but new Greenbelt Route signs are appearing. While they are meant to be cycling routes, I took one on a hike this week. It showed me a great little link between the far western end of the Caledon Trailway near Terra Cotta on to a little gravel road named Brick Lane. I walked south on Brick Lane then turned left (east) onto King Street. I walked past the Terra Cotta Inn (and didn't stop of a latte!) until I came to Isabella Street. I turned left (north) onto Isabella until it crossed the Caledon Trailway. This forms a nice little connection between the village of Terra Cotta (where you can get something to eat) and the Caledon Trailway.
